SECTION: LET’S START.
I. The aims of the lesson:
- Pupils do the function: Greetings
II. Knowledge:
General knowledge: English pupils also have greeting as we do.
Language materials :
Vocabulary: Hi, Hello, I, am, What, is, your, name, My.
Structure :
What’s your name?
My name’s Kate.
Pronunciation: correct pronunciation of greeting.
Skills: Listening and speaking skills.
III. Method and teaching aids:
-M.A.T: Method, TPR approach.
-Repetition and substitution drills.
-The cassette player, picture cards.
IV. Steps of teaching :
A. Classroom procedure:
1. Greetings.
2. Checking attendance.
B. Review the previous lesson: pupils sing the song again.
C. New lesson:
Section: LET’S TALK.

Content


1. Teacher waves his hands to pupils. And say “hello”, then teacher points to himself and say “hello”: I am Scott
- Pupils put their name’s cards in front of them.
- Teacher greets them with “Hi, Lan” “Hello, Nga”
2. Teacher presents the first part of the dialogue.
- Teacher takes part of Scott and Kate three times.
3. Pupils take the parts of Scott and Kate, and then pupils read each other, using their cards.
4. Similar to this, teacher presents the second part of the dialogue. Then pupils take parts of Kate and John in group or in pair.
- Teacher goes around the class to help pupils in their speaking.
5. Pupils ask and answer their real names in pairs.
- Play the recording, Pupils listen and repeat chorally and individually.
6. Teacher presents the paradigm and construction on page : 2
- Pupils read them chorally and then individually.

- Pupils do following his situations:
- Pairs of pupils greet each other by using: Hi and Hello. Then, pupils ask and answer with their names such as:

Pupils learn by heart the section at home.
Teacher remarks the learning period.
