- Động từ có tận cùng là một phụ âm ( trừ h, w, x, y) mà trước nó là một nguyên âm ngắn mang trọng âm thì ta gấp đôi phụ âm đó rồi mới thêm “ing”.
VD: Run  Running Chạy
Động từ có âm tiết cuối cùng là “l” ta phải gấp đôi “l” trước khi thêm “ing”
VD: travel  travelling Đi lại
