Present perfect tense
Form:
a1. Aff. Subject + have / has + past participle
(V3 / V_ed)
Ex: We have learnt English for five years.
since 2005.
a2. Neg. Subject + have / has + not + past participle
(have not = haven’t, has not = hasn’t)
Ex: He hasn’t played soccer for two weeks.
a3. Int. Have / Has + subject + past participle?
-> Yes, S + have / has.
or No, S + haven’t / hasn’t.
Ex: Have you lived in Di An before?
->Yes, I have. I have lived here for fourteen years.
b. Use: to talk about something which started in the past and continues up to the present.
c. We often use “for” and “since” with the Present Perfect Tense.
- for + a period of time Ex: for five years
- since + a point of time Ex: since 2005
She has learnt English for six years.
I have lived in Bac son since 1996.
