2. Grammar.
The past simple tense.
(+) S + was/were + (O)
(-) S + wasn’t/weren’t + (O)
(?) Was/were + S + (O)?
Yes, S + was/were.
No , S +wasn’t/weren’t.
The past of “tobe”(was/were).
Ex: - One day, as a farmer was in the field
(+) S + V – ed / past.
Ex: The farmer worked in the field.
(-) S + didn’t + V (inf) + O
Ex: The farmer didn’t work in the field.
(?) Did + S + V (inf) + O?
Ex: Did the farmer work in the field ?
Yes, he did / No he didn’t
The past of “verb”.
2. Grammar.
The past simple tense.
* Uses: - Diễn tả hành động(sự kiện) đã xảy ra và đã kết thúc trong quá khứ, không còn liên quan đến hiện tại.
* With: Yesterday, last night, last week, last …, ago, in 2000.
How the tiger got his stripes.
One day , as a farmer was in the field and his buffalo(0) was grazing nearby, a tiger(1)_________ .The tiger wanted to know why the strong buffalo was the servant and the small man(2)_______ the master.The farmer(3) ______ he had something called wisdom, but he(4)____ it at home that day. He(5)______ to get the wisdom, but before that he(6)______ the tiger to a tree with a rope because he didn’t want it to eat the buffalo.When he returned, the farmer brought some straw with him. One day as I was in the field and my buffalo was grazing nearby, a tiger came. It asked why the strong buffalo was my servant and why I was its master. I told the tiger that I had something called wisdom. The tiger wanted to see it, but I told it I left my wisdom at home that day. Then I tied the tiger to a tree with a rope because I didn`t want it to eat my buffalo. I went to get some straw and said that it was my wisdom and burned the tiger. The tiger escaped, but it still has black stripes from the burns today.

III. Post-Writing 1.Suggestion
One day as a farmer was in his field and his buffalo was grazing nearby, I came. I asked why a strong buffalo was his servant and he was its master. He told me that he had something called wisdom. I wanted to see it and he told me he left wisdom at home that day. Then he tied me to a tree with a rope because he didn’t want me to eat his buffalo. He went to get some straw and he burned me. I escaped, but today I still have black stripes from the burns.
