Lesson 2. A closer look 1

By the end of the lesson, students can:
use the lexical items related to the topic “My home”.
Pronounce correctly the ending sounds /s/, /z/, /iz/ in isolation and in context
Use the prepositions of place.
Ask about and describe houses, room and furniture.

I. Warm up
T. shows the picture to Ss and asks them to talk about the things in the picture.
Ss work in groups and discuss the picture.
- T. calls a student to the board and talk about the position of the things in the picture.
II. Presentation
* Vocabulary.
T. uses picture and elicits words from Ss
Rub out and remember
Task 2.
Ss work in groups and write name of the things in each room in the picture of Task 1 on a large paper .
T. hangs the Ss’ answers on the board and corrects.
III. Practice
Task 3.
T. lets Ss listen and repeat the words and asks Ss to write more words for each group.
Task 4. Ss work in pairs. Ask and answer questions to guess the room.
T. calls some pairs to play before class.
