T gives 2 examples then elicits the form.

T elicits the usage from the examples.




T elicits the adverbs that are used in the past tense.

T asks Ss to make an example.
Acitvity 1
Form: V pat simple ( -ed / 2 )
Ex: a - I went to Chu Se yesterday.
b- Lan played tennis 2 days ago.
Usage :
We use this tense to talk about an action or an event that finished in the past and don’t influence the present.
=> In Ex a) –b) : the action is finishedand those actions aren’t related to the present.
( Adverbs are usually used in this tense such as :
- yesterday ..... , .. ago , last ....
Ex: Last summer, I visited my friends in Quang Ninh.


Ss look at the examples and give the form.


Some give the usage.




Ss answer.


Ss write an example.

T gives 5 sentences on the board.



T asks ss to complete the sentences.
Activity 2
Put the verbs in the correct form.

Activity 3
Ex1: I wish Lan had a new bike.
Form:
S1 + WISH + S2 + V past simple.
Ex2: I wish I were a doctor.
Ex3: Nam wishes he were taller.
( Note : Were is used with all subjects)

Ss look at the example and give the form.


Ss find out Note with Be.

12’

T gives 5 sentences on the board.





T lets Ss write the sentences in WISH.




T asks some answer.
Activity 4
Rewrite these sentences in the WISH sentences.
1. You are not very tall.
2 You don’t have a mobile phone.
3.Van doesn’t have a computer.
4. There aren’t any supermarket in your hometown.
5. You live very far from school.
Answer key:
1. I wish I were taller.
2. I wish I had a mobile phone.
3.Van wishes she had a computer.
4 I wish there were a supermarket in my hometown.
5. -I wish I lived near/next to school.
- I wish I didn’t live far from school.


Ss copy them and rewrite them in WISH sentences.
