C – Listening
I – Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Develop such listening micro – skill as listening for specific information and listening for general information. Besides, students can develop taking note skills while listening.

Warm up
7 mins
- Teacher plays the song “My heart will go on” and asks students which film it belongs to.
- Teacher introduces the song and the film Titanic and then asks students some more questions:
1, Who sang the song?
Celine Dion
2, When was the film shown in the first time?
In 1997
3, How many Oscar awards did Titanic get?

- Listen and answer the questions
Before you listen
7 mins
- Teacher analyzes the table on the page 136 and gives the question “How often do you….”
- Teacher asks students to do the task and call some students to answer.
- Teacher introduces new words that will appear in the listening part.

- Teacher gives the meanings of the new words and asks students to read aloud.

Instruction: you’re going to hear the plan for the next week of two girls, Lan and Huong.
- Teacher plays the tape once and calls students to answer the question

*) Task 2: 10 mins
Instruction: in this part, you’re going to listen Lan and Huong’ s plan in details.
- Teacher gives some tips for students to listen effectively such as listen to key words and phrases; write in note form not in full sentences.
- Teacher plays the tape again.
- Teacher asks students to check the answer with friends.
- Teacher calls some students to present the answer.
- Teacher plays the tape again and check.

- Teacher asks students to work in pairs and take turn to summarizes the conversation between Lan and Huong, basing on the table in task 2.
- Teacher gives the suggestion to start “next week Lan and Huong are going to see Titanic in Thang Tam cinema…..”
- Teacher asks students to pay attention to the tense. They can use present continuous tense of near future tense.
- Teacher goes around the class to help students to do the task.
- Teacher calls some students to talk and gives the feedback.
- Work in pairs and talk about Lan and Huong’s plan
Wrapping up

- Teacher summarizes the main points.
- Teacher asks students to write a paragraph about Lan and Huong’s plan, and prepare the next lesson.
