Lesson 4. Communication
I./. Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students can:
use the lexical items related to the topic “My friends”.
Use the vocabulary and structure about body parts, appearance, and personality.
Use the present continuous to talk about future plans and arrangements.
Guess the meaning of new words based on clues including pictures and surrounding word.
II./. Content.
Vocabulary: Vocabulary of stars, appearance, and personality.
Structure: the present continuous to talk about future plans and arrangements

IV./. Procedure
Class organization.
- Greeting.
- Checking attendance: 6E2

I. Warm up
T. asks Ss to look at the picture and guess what are the picture about?
Ss look at the picture and guess.
- The picture is about the animals, each animal is for a year.
II. Presentation
* Vocabulary.
T. uses picture in the book on page 20 and elicits words from Ss.
Ss read vocab in chorus.
Rub out and remember
Act 1
T. shows the pictures of the five friends in the magazine and asks to discuss the friends with the class.
Ss look at the picture then discuss.
II. Practice
Ss do discuss and practice talking about themselves.
T. calls 2/3 Ss to talk about themselves.
Ss work in pairs to talk to each other about their own plans for the weekend.
T. calls Ss to the board and talk about their plans.
Act 2.
T. explains something about the stars.
IV. Production
T. asks Ss to think about their friends’ personalities.
T. calls some Ss to stand up and talk about their friend’s character
V. Homework.
