Lesson 11: How to use Selection tool to Format Line  Segments - Today, In this lesson , http://lessonflash.com offer you a tutorial about using Selection tool .You can change a line, also called a stroke in Flash, by adjusting its length or reshaping its curve. For example, you might want to change the angle of a line, extend a curved line to make it appear longer, or just simply make the curve more curvy. You can edit any line segment by altering its endpoints. Unlike other editing techniques, you do not need to first select the line in order to modify its endpoints.

B. Read it and do it 1. Resize a line Segment

Step 1: - Click  choose Selection tool   . Step 2: - Move the cursor  over an end of the line.  Note: Do not click the line to select it. Cursor A appears next to the  line . Step 3: - Click and drag the end of the line to shorten or lengthen the segment. As you drag the corner pointer in any direction, you can change the line’s angle. Step 4: - Release the mouse button. 2. Resize a line you want to curve.


Step 1: - Click   Selection tool  . Step 2: - Move  cursor  over the area of the line you want to curve. Note: Do not click the line to select it. A     appears next to the Selection tool  . Step 3: - Click and drag the line to add or reshape the curve. Step 4: - Release the mouse button. Flash reshapes the line. 3. How do I draw perfect vertical and horizontal lines? You may find it difficult keep a steady hand while drawing a line on the Stage. You can draw perfectly straight horizontal and vertical lines if you press and hold the  Shift key while dragging the Line tool across the Stage. This technique also works for drawing perfect squares with the Rectangle tool or perfect circles with the Oval tool. 4. Can I see precise edit points on a line? Yes. Click the Subselection tool  and then click the line. Edit points appear at either end of the line, and if the line consists of more than one segment, edit points also appear at each change of segment. You can drag any edit point to reshape the line.
