Period 2 Unit 1 : Greetings.
Lesson 1 :A. Hello (A 1 – 4 )
A.Objectives: Sau tiết học , học sinh có thể :
-Chào hỏi và giới thiệu tên một cách lưu loát .
B. Language contents:
1. Vocabulary: hello, hi, I, am, my, name, is.
2Grammar: To be: - I am + tên.
- My name is + tên
C. Teaching aids: pictures, cassette, extra-board, tape
D. Procedures

I. Warm up.
- T. checks sts’ tools ( textbooks, notebooks, fountain pen, ruler….)
II.Presentation
- Ask Ss to look at the picture and
Answer some qs.
+ Who are they in the picture?
+ What are they doing?
- Ask them look at the pictures in in part 1.
+ can you guess what the students say?
* Pre- teach vocabulary
- Hello (Translation)
- Hi (Translation)
- Name ( example)
- Is/ Am
- I (Translation)
- My
- Read and ask Ss to read
+Checking: Rub out and remember
* Grammar
-Introduces the students two ways of greeting .
+ Hello =Hi(Explain the use of the two words)
-Introduces the ways of introducing their names to the others.
-Give some examples and ask Ss to give structures.
Ex: My name is Thanh.
I am Thanh.
III. Practice:
-Has the students listen to the tape and focus on pronunciation and stress.
-Asks the students to repeat after the tape in the second time.
-Asks the students to work in pairs and practise saying the sentences in their books.
-Calls some students to read the sentences before the class
-Corrects their mistakes if necessary.
IV.Production
-Asks the students to work in groups to practise greeting and introducing their names.
-Calls some students to introduce their names before the class
-Corrects their mistakes if necessary.
-Reminds the students the structure of introducing names.
V. Home-work: Asks the students to:
+Repractise the sentences
+Learn by heart the new words.
+Prepare the new lesson Unit 1_A 5,6,7.
-Ss answer the questions individually.
-Listen, guess the meaning and copy down
