A/ Objective :
To identify the course characters.
To recognize English sounds and spoken words.
B/ Language content :
Tess, Baz , Adam , Pat , Jig
C/ Aids : Computer , texbook , pictures’s cards , cassette
D/ Techniques :
Listen and find
Guessing game
Match and say
E/ Procedure :
Teacher’s activities
Ss’ activities
I/ Warm up and review ( 5’)
Ask Ss to say in their own language:
How old are they?
What’s their relationship?
II/ New lesson :
Listen and say (5’)
-Tell Ss that they are going to meet the course characters.
-Play CD, holding up the card of the character as its name is said
* Tess ( picture of girl )
* Baz ( picture of boy )
* Adam ( picture of boy )
* Pat ( picture of cat )
* Jig ( picture of rabbit )
Listen and find (5’)
-Tell Ss that they are going to say a characters’s name and they should point to that character
-T says the characters’ names at random: Baz , Tess, Pat , Jig , Adam
-Play CD
Key : Adam , Jig , Baz , Tess, Pat
3. Practice
a. Pairwork :
- Open pair – closed pair
- Feedback : Ss point to the pictures and say its name
c. Game : Guessing game
4. Free practice (5’)
- Match and say : Ss practise tracing the lines in their book.
- Ask Ss to say the characters’ name as they trace
III/ Consolidaion:
Ss retell what they have just leant by recoquizing them from a lot of pictures
IV/ Homework :
Learn by heart the characters’ names
Be ready for lesson 2
- Tess is 6, Baz’s 4, Adam’s 2
- Sister and brothers
Look at – listen – repeat (chorus/ groups / individual )
Point to the correct characters in their book.
Listen and point to the characters in their books/ page 4.
Work in pair
Play game
Match and say in Activity book

Period: 2 Me - Lesson 2
A/ Objective :
To introduce oneself in English.
To greet and say goobye in English.
To learn to ask How are you? And respond politely to the question.
B/ Language content :
- I’m Tess.
- Hello / Hi
- How are you ? – I’m fine, thank you.
C/ Aids : Computer , texbook , pictures’s cards , cassette
D/ Techniques :
Say and do
Guessing game
Sing a song
E/ Procedure :
Teacher’s activities
Ss’ activities
I/ Warm up and review ( 5’)
Play game: Yes – No
* Say the name of the course character and hold up a character card at the same time. If the two match, Ss say Yes. If the card and the name are different , Ss say No.
II/ New lesson :
1.Listen and say (5’)
-Tell Ss to look at the pictures and answer the question by their own language
* What are they doing ?.
- Play CD once to check the answer.
- Play CD again, pausing after each phrase.
Key : Hello, I’m Baz
Bye, Jig! Bye Pat! Bye Baz
2.Say and do (5’)
-Call a student to in front of the class and give him/ her card of Baz
- T : Hello, I’m Diem
- St : Helllo, I’m Baz
- T : Bye, Baz
- St : Bye, Diem

- Feedback : Some of pair groups perform in front of class
4. Free practice (5’)
- Sing:
* Help Ss to learn to ask how they are:
T ( asks Baz): Hello, Baz. How are you ?

- Ask Ss to sing the song line by line
- Ask Ss to sing the song with playing the CD/4
