Lesson 1 : A- We are the world.

I/ Aims and objectives:
* Language content :
- To introduce the sts some new words relating to the names, nationalities and language of the counties.
- To help sts to have some knowledge about the countries and their capitals.
*Language function :
- To help the sts to introduce their nationalities and language and ask the others about these.
*Educational aim :
- To educate in the sts aware of the importance of relating to the countries in the world .
1. Language:
a. Vocabulary: -Countries; language; nationalities; Canada- Canadian; USA- American; Great- Britain- British / English; Australia- Australian; France- French; Japan- Japanese; China- Chinese.
b. Structures: - I’m from Viet Nam.
Where are you from?
What’s his/ her nationality?
2. Skills: - Integrated skills
3. Educational factor:
- Knowing to love the peace and against war in the world.
II/ Teacher and students` preparation:
1. Method : - Communicative approach.
2. Techniques: - Explanation, Repetition, game, pair work, group work.
3. Materials needed: -Picture, cassette player, text book.
4. Students` preparation: - Prepare the lesson well before coming to class.
5. Previous exercises:
III/ Procedure in class:
1/ Stabilization ( 2ms):
a. Warm up: - Greets the students.
b. Checking absence: - Asks the monitor about the absence
2/ Checking up the previous knowledge : (5 ms )
*Questions: What are you going to do in this evening?
*Answers: - I’m going to do my home work.

- Where are you from?

III/ Controlled- Practice :
- Lets sts listen to the tape A1, stops sentence by sentence for sts repeat.
- Calls some sts to retell each sentence.
- Asks sts to practice asking and answering in pairs basing on the structure:
Where’s …………………………..from?
He/ She is from……………………..
- Calls some pairs of sts to play roles before class.
IV/ Free- practice:
- Asks some sts the question:
Where are you from?
2/ Listen and read:
I/ Lead - in :
- Uses the map and shows the sts the location of Vietnam and sets the scene.
II/ Pre- Practice:
- Guides the way to introduce by yourself and the way to report the others’ speech.
III/ Controlled- Practice :
- Plays the tape A2 and has sts to read again Minh’s introduction.
- Asks sts to practice in pairs introducing themselves and mother report this speech.
- Corrects if necessary.
IV/ Free- practice:
- Asks sts to play roles as: SuSan, Yoko, Lee and Minh to introduce about themselves and another report their introduction.
- Calls some groups to demonstrate before the class.
