Period 1 REVISION (English 7)
A/ Aims: To revise the use of the simple present and the simple past (ir/regular verbs).
B/ Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk and write about their activities using the simple present and the simple past accordingly.
C/ Teaching aids: Blackboard
D/ Ways of working: Individuals, pairs
E/ Procedure:
1- Warm up: Greetings and Introducing
2- Activity 1: (Time allotted: 20 mins)
( T. puts the QUESTIONNAIRE (1) on the board.

 ( Ask Ss to copy the questionnaire.
( Ask Ss to answer the questions about themselves. Put ( for YES and ( for NO.
( Then tell them to work in pairs asking and answering the questions.
( T. gets one pair of students to ask and answer the questions putting (or ( in the
columns as an example.
( Ss use the information in the questionnaire to write about themselves and their partner.
Example: (get up at 5.30 every morning)
( I ( ; Nam ( ( - I don`t get up at 5.30 every morning and Nam doesn`t either.
( I ( ; Nam ( ( - I get up at 5.30 every morning and Nam does, too.
( I ( ; Nam ( ( - I get up at 5.30 every morning but Nam doesn`t.
( I ( ; Nam ( ( - I don`t get up at 5.30 every morning but Nam does.
( T. has some Ss say out loud/ or write down their sentences on the board.
3- Activity 2: (Time allotted: 15 mins) QUESTIONNAIRE (2)

( Ask Ss "When do we use the simple present and when do we use the simple past?"
4- Homework: Look at 4 pictures (a-d) on page 10 and answer the questions: - What are the boys/girls doing? - What are their favorite activities/games? - What do they do after school?

Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED

A/ Aims: To practice the dialogue and answer the questions about the dialogue.
B/ Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to give some information about Nien,
Hoa`s next-door neighbor in Hue.
C/ Teaching aids: Pictures, Textbooks, Tape and cassette player, Blackboard
D/ Ways of working: Individuals, pairs
E/ Procedure:
1- Warm up (GETTING STARTED page 10)
( Ask Ss the questions: - What do you often do after school?
- Who do you (play badminton) with?
- Do you like team games? Why? (more interesting, help each other)
( Ask Ss to work in pairs looking at 4 pictures (a-d) on page 10 and answer the questions:
- What are the boys/girls doing? - What are their favorite activities/games? - When do they often play these games?
Example: a) The boys are playing soccer. Their favorite game/sport is soccer. They often soccer after school/ in their free time.
( Give Ss 4 minutes to discuss in pairs then get feedback from them (3mins).
