PERIOD 2 GETTING STARTED + LISTEN AND READ
I/ Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to have some more knowledge about describing people’s appearance, know about favorite activities.
II/ Language contents:
1/ Vocabulary: seem, receive, classmate, next-door neighbor, enough, lovely, smile
2/ Structures: seem + adj, what …does/do like ? , adj + enough + to-inf
III/ Technique:
Brainstorming, pair work, group work.

Warm up
What do you often do in your free time? Which sports do you play?
Ps answer about activities in their free time.
Getting started:
Asking ps to look at the pictures and talk about activities of these groups of friends.
Ps may practice in pairs, using the suggested questions beside
Pre-listening:
T : Do you have any friends? Yes / No.
What about Hoa?
T gives Ps task 1 for listening
While-listening:
Task 2: Listen again, notice the pronunciation and find out new words
T teaches some new words
Task 3: Ps practice in pairs to read the dialogue.
Post-listening:
Getting feedback : Ps read the dialogue to the rest of the class.
Pre-reading : Task 4
Read the passage silently to answer the questions beside with T or F
While-reading:
Task 5: Read the passage again and answers the questions in your books.
Ps work in groups to answer and write the answers on the OHT
T gets feedback: Show the answers on the OHP and corrects mistakes.
T remarks and gives marks
Post-reading:
Ps practice asking and answering questions about Nien, Lan, Hoa.

II/ Language contents:
1/ Vocabulary: Body build, slim, straight, curly, bold, fair, blond
2/ Structures: He/she has long curly hair. It’s my pleasure to meet you.
How do you do. Would you like to meet?
Nice to meet you. I’d like you to meet.
III/ Technique:
Brainstorming, pair work, group work, repetition, Q and A.

T asks Ps to look at the picture to repeat the dialogue.
T explains the task of speaking.
Ps work in pairs. After 5 minutes, getting feedback.
