INTRODUCTION OF ENGLISH 6

I. Objectives.
-To introduce English 6 student`s book and curriculum.
-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to hold their English 8 book and curriculum. Understand about learning program of English 6. Prepare carefully for this subject such as : an English book, a workbook, a notebook and some objects of learning. Be interested in learning this subject

1. Warm up:
Greeting:
T makes friends with students by introducing name and greeting them.
2. Presentation:
*Introduce:
2.1. Method of learning English:
- T says s.t about method of learning English at school and at home.
- Ss can ask some questions.
- T says some her requirements. (school things, notebooks ...)
2.2. Student`s books:
- Ss are divided into 8 groups of 6.
- T uses handout to give questions.
- Ss discuss in groups.

- Ask Ss to prepare Unit1

Teacher and the whole class



1. How many units are there in the books? Give their topics.
2. How many parts does each unit have? What are they?
3. Say the difference between unit of English 5 book and E6 book.
4. What part begins each unit? And what part ends?
5. What part has exercises? Where is it?

Unit 1: GREETINGS

I. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to:
+ Greet each other , say " Hi, Hello", introduce name .
+ Help ss have skills to study and practice.
+ Make ss feel self- confident when they introduce about themselves
II. Language contents
* Vocabulary : Hello, Hi, I, I am = I`m
My, name, is ( My name is)
* Grammar: - Greetings: Hello, Hi
- Introduce name : I am Lan = My name is Lan.

1.Presentation
* Act 1: How to greet each other
- T: Ask Ss to look at the picture in the Sts’ books and tell about the situation in the picture.
Ss: Discuss sthing about the pictures.
- T presents vocabulary and let ss practise
* Let ss play a game: "What and where"
- T: Prepare some cards about newwords. Guide the way to play.
Ss: Listen and play with two groups.
- T: Check and comment the winner.
- T: Notice the differences between Hello and Hi.
Ss: Take notes if necessary.
* Act 2: How to introduce name.
- T. uses the pictures in the book and sets the scene to Øntoduce name.
- T: Ask: How many ways can we use to introduce name ?
Ss: Give their ideas.
-> Concept check:form, meaning, use,
pronunciation.
- T: Introduce short form .
Ss: Copy down.
2.Practice
T. uses the picture in the book and sets the scene to build dialogue.
Ss: pairwork.
- T: Aks ss to role play Nam , Ba … to repeat the sentences .
Ss: Roleplay.
Greet and introduce the name.
-T: Ask ss to greet each other and introduce their name .
Ss :Practice with a partner.
- T: Call some pairs to practise in front of the class.
Ss: Talk in pairs before class.
- T: Comment if necessary.
3.Production
- Ask Ss to look at the workbook and do Exercise 1 (p. 2 – workbook) individually.
Ex1 : a) I am Hoa. / I’m Hoa.
- Ask Ss to work in four groups and do Exercise 2 (p. 2 – workbook)
- Call some Ss to write the sentences on the board.
