Unit 3: A trip to the countryside. Period 15: Lesson 2 : Speak& Listen
I.Objectives:
After the lesson Ss will be able to ask and answer about their home village and then they can describe the home village.
To drill Ss speaking &listening skills, After the lesson Ss will be able to develope their listening skill by listening to the tape to get the information
II. Teaching aids.
Text book, work book.,cassette player
III. Teaching procedures:
1.Class organization.

-Do ex in the work book.
3. New lesson
Warm up.
Ask ss to work in pairs to answer the questions.
-Do you often visit your home village ?
-Where is your home village ?
-How far is it from your house to your home village ?
-How long does it take you to get there ?
Speaking
*Pre- speaking.
-Ask ss to work in pairs to read the questions and the table in the text book and then play the role of A and B.
Ex: A: Where is your home village?
B:It’s to the west of the city.
A:How far is it from the city?
B: It is about 15 km from the city.
A: How can you get there?
B: I get there by bus
A: How long does it take you to get there?
B: it takes 50 minutes to get there.
-Ask some pairs to practice in front of the class.
*While - speaking.
-Ask ss to work in pairs to ask and answer about the real home village.
- Give the suggestions to ask about the interesting places, children games, village festivals........
-Call some pairs to practice in front of the class.
S1: Where is your home village?
S2: It is to the south of the city.
S1: How far is it from the city?
S2: it is about 10 km.
S1: How can you get there?
S2:I get there by bus.
S1: Does your village have high mountain?
S2: No high mountain, but there is a river, Its name is Hong River.
S1: What do people in your home village do?
S2: They grow rice, tea, corn .......
-Check the mistakes if necessary.
Ex: My home village is to the south of Thanh Ba town. It is about 6km from here. I usually go there by motorbike. I sometimes go there on the weekend.it often takes me about 10 minutes to get there. I often go swimming every afternoon, because my home village is next to Hong river.
I often fly kites and visit my relatives’ house. People in my village are very friendly and kind.
*Post - speaking.
-Ask ss to think about your home village and then talk about it.
-Call some Ss to speak aloud before the class.
C.Listening
*Pre-listening.
-Ask ss to look at the book to listen to the introduction about the topic of the listening: Ba and Liz’s trip to Ba’s village.
-Ask ss to listen to the tape and then give the name of the places in the map.
* While- listening.
Play the tape twice and ask Ss to work in pairs to do the exercise.
-Call some pairs to give the answers.
A: Banyan tree. F: Store
B: Air port. G: Pond.
C: Highway No .1. H: Bamboo forest.
D: Dragon Bridge. I: Parking lot.
E: Gas station.
Play the tape the third time to check and give correct answers.
* Post - listening.
-Ask ss to work in pairs to describe the way from your home to your school.
Ex:
-My school is not far from my house. It is about 1 km so I often go to school by bike.
On my way from my house to school, there is a railway station on the left.There is a bamboo forest near Hong River.
There are green paddy fields on both sides.......................
-Call some pairs to speak aloud before the class.
-Listen and check if necessary.
4. Consolidation.
-Ask ss to give the main content of the lesson.
-Have some Ss retell the maintent of the listening.
5. Homework.
-Do ex in the work book.
-Prepare new lesson: Read
