There are 16 units in the textbook and in each unit is divided into 5 lessons (except unit 13 has 5 lessons)

1. Warm up:
Pelmanism.
- Prepares twelve cards with numbers on one side and the verbs on the other .
- Makes sure the verbs are mixed up. Sticks the cards on the board so students can only see the numbers.
- Divides students into two teams and asks them to choose two numbers.
- Turns the cards over and see if they match.
Eg: teach taught, gives them one mark. If not, turns the cards over again and asks the next team.
- Continues until all the cards are finished.

- Lets sts look at 4 pictures and describe them
II. Pre- reading:
1. Pre-vocabulary.
T: uses techniques such as mine, realia and translation to introduce the new words.

* Checking: Rubs out the meaning in Vietnamese and asks students to fill in again in 2 minutes.
S: Go to the board and fill the meaning in.

2. Pre- questions:(use sub-board)
- Gives some questions and asks them to work in pairs to answer them.


III. While reading:
- Asks students to read the dialogue between Hoa, Lan and Nien and checks if their answers are correct or not.

* Comprehension questions
- Asks students to read the dialogue again and answer the questions in exercise 2 on page 11 (work in pairs)
- Calls on students to ask and answer the questions.
- Corrects their mistakes or pronunciation.
- Asks them to work in closed pairs.

* Gap-filling.
- Asks students to use the simple present tense and simple past tense to complete paragraph 1 (a) (b) on page 16.
- Provides some verbs so that students can use them to fill in the gaps. (1a)
