AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
-LANGUAGE CONTENT :
+To introduce the students some new words relating to things around the house.
-LANGUAGE FUNCTION:
+To help them speak about things, introduces things around them
-EDUCATIONAL AIM:
+To teach them the way to keep things in the house and to have good behaviour towards their friends…
Language:
a.Vocabulary: couch – armchair – table – chair – lamp – bookself – telephone – stereo – stools -these – those.
b.Structure:
What’s this / that? It’s table.
What are these / those? They are chairs
Who’s this / that? He’s /she’s a doctor
Skill:Integrated skills: pay much attention to speaking and listening
Education factor: the students know how to describe their house
TEACHER AND STUDENT S’ PREPARATION:
Method: Communicative Approach:
Techniques: Repetition, using pictures, asking, answering.
Material needed: pictures, word cards, and cassette.
Students’ preparation: look up the new words
Previous exercises: 1,2,3 on page 14,15,16.
PROCEDURE IN CLASS:
Stabilization: 2 minutes
a.Warm–up: greetings
b.Checking absence: Asks the students to report who’s absent.
Checking up previous knowledge:
Time needed: 5 minutes
Questions: show some objects and asks what’s this / that?
Keys to questions:It’s a/an
Presentation of the new material: MY HOUSE (A 1,2 )

I/ Lead in
- shows a picture of a house, asks the sts “what’s this?” – Yes, it’s a house.
-introduces the lesson
II/ Pre-practice
1/ Shows two different pictures to students.
Emphasizes the location to introduce “this” and “that”
-Shows other pictures of things and says the words.
-Mentions the /s/ sound in “chair”, “armchair” and /s/ sound in bookself
2/ Writes new structures on the board
What’s this/that?
What are these/those?
-Tells them the difference between “It’s… and this/that is…”
3/ Explains how to use the plural form of verb “be” and “noun” to practise the plural form of the new structures.
III/ Controlled practice
-Let’s the students practise in pairs “This/that is”
- lets them to repeat the structures
- lets them ask and answer questions, using pictures
- calls some pair to practise.
IV/Free-practice
- asks the students to play the game “slap the board” with the vocabulary about things in the house.
V/Consolidation
