LESSON 1: A:MY HOUSE-A1 - 2.P30 - 31.
I. Aims:
- To help ss know WH - Questions with this / that / those/ these and living room vocabulary to talk about things in the house.
- To develop ss’skills.
II. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer with “What’s this/that? What are these/ those? ~ It’s a / an.......... / They are..................”
III. Ways of working:
T - WC, pair work, individual work.
IV. Materials:
Text book, pictures, tape.
V. Anticipates problems:
VI. Teaching steps:
1. Warm up (5 minutes):- Greet and check the Ss’attendance.
- Revision: T.points at some things around the class and
asks Ss some questions:
Ex: T:(points at a window) What is this? - S: It is a window.
T:(points at a pen) What is this? - S: It is a pen.
T: (points at a clock at the end of the class) What is that? - S: It is a clock
T. introduces new lesson.
2. New lesson:

*Preteach:
- T.uses techniques to teach Ss new words. (A1.P31)
(use real things and pictures)
- Checking undertanding:
Matching ( use pictures)
* Introduction new language:
- T. holds a pen and says:
This is a pen.
- T. holds 3 pens and says:
These are pens.
-Ask Ss say out the similarity and the difference between This is.../ These are
Similarly, T. introduces how to use that/ those
- Ask Ss to repeat the question about one object:
( What is this/ that?)
- T. introduces the question about many objects.
* Concept checking:
+ What is the meaning of these sentences in Vietnamese?
+ When do we use these structures?
+ Ask Ss to give the form.

dùng để chỉ sự vật ở xa.
* Difference:
That is + singular noun.
Those are + plural noun.
3. What are these?
- They are armchairs
What are those?
- They are stools.
* Form:
What are these/ those?
They are + plural noun
PRACTICE

*Listen and repeat A1.P31.
T. plays the tape, Ss listen and repeat.
*Picture drill: A1,A2.P31.
- Ss work in pairs asking and answering about the objects in pictures A1, A2-P30,31.
E.g:

- What are these?
- They are........

*Teacher asks Ss to practice in pairs, using real things in or around classroom.
