Unit 9: The Body
Lesson 1: A1-2 – Parts of the Body

I.Objective: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know and name some parts of the body. - Describe the building.
II. Language Focus:
1. Vocabulary: Head, shoulder, arm, hand, finger, chest, leg, foot (feet), toe.
2. Structures: - What is this ? - This is head.
- What are these ? - These are shoulders.
III. Techniques: - Ask and answer.
IV. Teachings aids: - Textbook, pictures, real objects, cards, postcard, cassette …
V. Teaching Procedures:

Teacher’s and Students’ activities
Contents

1.Warm up:
- T asks Ss to write words beginning at letter A, B, C
- Ss writes.
2. Presentation:
a. Teaching vocabulary:
- T hangs postcard (one person) on the board, asks Ss listen to the board and guess. Then, T plays the cassette.
- Ss look at the postcard and listen to the tape.
b. Checking vocabulary:
- Aks some Ss to say the words in Vietnamese.
- Ss say them in Vietnamese
c. Comprehension check:
- T asks Ss some questions by looking at the pictures. - Ss answer.
- T guides Ss to practice with a partner.
- T calls some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class.
3. Practice:
- T guides Ss to do A1.
- T sticks pictures on the board, asks Ss to write the name of each part of the body.
- Ss write on the board. - Others check.
- T corrects Ss’ mistake.
- T guides Ss to do A2.


4. Furthur Practice.
- T asks Ss to play game: “Guessing game” by asking some questions.
- Ss play game.



5. Consolidation.
- T asks Ss to retell parts of body they have learned.
- Ss retell.
6. Production:
Guide Ss to play games.

2. Practice with a partner:
- What is that?
- That is his head.
- What are those?
- Those are his shoulders.
* Exercise 1:
* Exercise 2: Read then list the parts of the body.
* Simon says: show what I say, not show what I show.
1. It is on the top of your body. What is it? (Head)
2. They are at the end of your legs. What are they? (Feet).
3. It is between your arm. What is it? (Chest).
4. They are on your hands. What are they? (Fingers)




VI. Homework: - Learn by heart the newwords.
- Do exercises 1, 2 page 83 in workbook.

1. Vocabulary: Big, small, fat, thin, tall, short, heavy, light, strong, weak…
2. Structures: She/He is ………. Ex: - She is fat. – She is thin
III. Techniques: - Ask and answer, pairwork, groupwork..
IV. Teachings aids: - Textbook, cassette, pictures …
