Today , television plays an important role in our modern life . We watch TV every day but not many people know John Logie Baird . He invented TV and he was called “ the amateur inventor ”.
John Logie Baird was born in 1888 in Scotland and educated in Glasgow . He earned a living by a razor blade salesman . In the 1890s Guglielmo Marconi showed that sound could be sent by radio waves and Baird was convinced by the similar system for transmitting a picture . He worked all day and night in his tiny workshop without any support . In 1924 , he succeeded in transmitting a figure over more than three meters . He continued to experiment and on 25th October 1925 he transmitted the first television picture . The first thing on TV was a boy who worked in the office next to Baird’s workroom in London .
