THE SECOND-TERM CONSOLIDATION

I/ Present simple, Present progressive tenses and Be going to :
@ Ordinary verbs in the Present simple tense :
+ Affirmative : S + V-inf. / V+s/es
Examples: I feel thirsty. Lan wants a can of peas.
+ Negative : S + don`t / doesn`t + Vinf. ......
Examples: I don`t feel thirsty. Lan doesn`t want a can of peas.
+ Interrogative : WH + do / does + S + Vinf. ...... ? / Do / Does + S + Vinf. ...... ?
Examples: How do you feel ? What does Lan want ?
Marks: Adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes, never, ...) (an action usually happens)
@ Ordinary verbs in the Present progressive tense :
AM / IS / ARE + VING
Examples: I am doing my homework.
He is playing soccer with his friends.
Marks: Now; Today; At present; At the moment; ... (an action is happening)
@ Be going to
AM / IS / ARE + GOING TO + VINF.
Examples: I am going to have a picnic on the weekend.
He is going to visit Hue tomorrow.
Marks: Tonight; Tomorrow ... (a plan in the near future)
II/ A / AN / SOME / ANY :
+ "A" and "An" + danh từ đếm được số ít.
Ex: a book, a teacher, an eraser, an apple, …
+ "Some" + danh từ đếm được số nhiều / danh từ không đếm được. Được dùng trong câu khẳng định.
Ex: There is some meat and some noodles.
+ "Any" + danh từ đếm được số nhiều / danh từ không đếm được. Được dùng trong câu phủ định và trong câu nghi vấn.
Ex: There aren`t any noodles. Is there any fruit ?
+ Comparing: “A” and “AN” with “SOME” and “ANY”
III/ Adjectives :
- Adjectives of colors: blue, red, yellow. white, ....
- Adjectives of appearance: tall. thin. heavy, strong, ....
- Adjectives of feelings: hot, cold, thirsty, hungry, ....
- Adjectives of weather: warm, hot, cool, cold
IV/ Question Words : What / What ..... do / What color / Where / How / How much / How many / When / What time / Who / How often …
V/ Adverbs of frequency : always, usually, often, sometimes, never
Position: Auxiliary verbs + Adverbs of frequency + Ordinary verbs
Example: I am never late for school.
He doesn’t usually play soccer on the weekend.
