Unit 1: My new school
Lesson 2: A closer look 1
Writing date: 17/ 8/ 2013
I.Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the dialogue on page six and use some expressions in the conversation, some school things.
II. Language content:
- Grammar: present simple/ present continous.
- Vocabulary: school things.
III.Teaching aids:
- Textbooks, teaching plan, radio.
IV.Procedure:
Teacher`s activities
1. Warm up (5`)
- Check the new words: ask sts to write all the new words on a piece of paper, then collect
2. Presentation (12`)
*Vocabulary:
physic (n) : môn vật lý
history(n) : môn lịch sử
judo (n) : môn võ juđô
maths(n): môn toán
science(n): khoa học
team(n): đội
interesting(adj): thú vị.
healthy(adj): khỏe mạnh, lành mạnh.
study(v): học, nghiên cứu.
- Checking by R & R
Have Ss look at the picture .
-Introduce the situation.
-Asks ss to listen to the tape then repeat.
-Call some ss to practice again then do matching
- Gets feed back
- Ask sts do exercies 1 individually
3. Practice(19`)
-Ask ss to read above the words again.
Asks ss What do “ have, do, play and study” mean?
-Work in pairs and put the words into groups of “ play, have, do, study”.
- T corrects
- Devides the class into 4 groups and add more nouns to the groups.
- Corrects each other.
-Gets feedback.
-Ask ss to read through the words and sentences
- Asks ss to work individually and put words in each blanks
- Call ss to write on the board then corect
- Let sts practice sound /±U/ and /(/
- Ask sts to observe the T`s lip positons for these two sounds
- Play the recording and ask sts to listen and repeat
- ask sts to listen to the recording and do
4. Production (7`)
- Have sts listen to the recording (ex 7) and underline the sound /±U/ and /(/
5. Homework (2`)
- Learn by heart the new words
- Do ex 3, 4 in workbook
- Prepare A closer look 2
