I. Aims & objectives:
-Helping ss to read for the details where Minh lives
- Vocabulary: To introduce to ss some vocabulary: a bookstore, a restaurant, a temple, a hospital, a factory, a museum, a stadium, neighborhood, next to
- Skill: + Target skills : Reading and listening
+ Other skills : speaking and writing
- Main teaching points: Reading a text about where Minh lives to understand town vocabulary and preposition of place.
- By the end of the lesson ss will be able to understand the content of the text and and can futher practise vocabulary and preposition of place.
II. Teaching aids:
- Teacher: posters, pictures, word cues
- SS : textbook, schoolthings,
III. Procedures:
1.Check up:(3’ )
Ask ss to make sentences using structure: There is / are….
Eg : There is a river near my house
There are trees
2. Lead in: (2)
- Have you ever visited the city?
- What can you see in the street?
- Is there a ….. in the city?

3.1 Pre- reading: (11’)
a.Pre-teach vocabulary:

b. Set the scene
-Look at the picture!Who is this? It’s Minh
-Do you know where he lives?
-What are there near his house?
-How many people are there in his family?
c.True or false statements:
-Now look at the poster . These sentences are about place Minh lives and his family, some sentences are true the others are false. I’d like you to think and predict which sentences are true or false.
-Give ss 3 minutes to predict
-Ask ss to compare with their partners after finishing prediction
- T gives feedback
3.2 While- reading: ( 17’)
-Let ss listen to the tape twice
Ask ss to open the textbook, read the text silently and check their doing.
-T gives the correct answers.
-Ask ss to read a text again & fill in the missing words
- Ss do individual and share with their parners
- Call ss to give the answers
- T corrects with whole class
-Ask ss to practice individually
3.3 Post-reading: (8’)
* - Ask ss to practise asking about the members in their family
- T models first
- Ask ss to work in pairs
- Call some pairs to practise in front of the class
- T corrects pronunciation
*- Ask ss to make sentences using word cues
- T models first
- Have ss work individual
- Call 3 ss to go the board and write their sentences
- T checks with whole class.
3.4 Pre – listening
- Ask ss to read the table
- Ask them to choose the word that they think right
- T takes note on the board
3.5 While – listening
- Have ss listen to the tape twice
- Ask ss to give the correct answers
- T checks with whole class
3.6. post- listening
- Ask ss to listen and read full sentences
- Make some sentences using prepositions “ in, on , near, next to”
