Sugar cane is grown in hot countries like Cuba and West India, where there is a heavy rainfall. At harvest time the cane is cut as close to the ground as possible in order to keep all the juice or sap .
The cane is then taken to a mill, where it is cut into a lot of small pieces . Next the sap is queezed out by heavy rollers . The sap is cleaned and then boiled until crystals appear .It is necessary, however, to these brown crystals from the sap.This is done by putting the mixture into a huge machine containing a drum which turns at high speed.The sap spins out of the machine, leaving the crystal behind.
