1. A famous person I loved from the past.
In the world, there are many famous people. The person I admire most is Ho Chi Minh. He was a pesident, a great politician and a famous poet in Viet Nam.
His birth name was Nguyen Sinh Cung and also knew as Nguyen Tat Thanh and Nguyen Ai Quoc. He was born on the nineteenth of May in 1890 in Nghe An province, in an intellectual family. His mother is a farmer and his father is a teacher. He devoted all his life to the country’s independence and freedom. He knew a lot of languages in the world and he worked as a cook, a waiter, a tutor … His famous writing is “Diary in prison”. All Vietnamese people call him with a friendly name is Uncle Ho. He died in Ha Noi on the second of September in 1969 and he was always in rememberance of Vietnamese people.
I love and respect him very much.
2. A beautiful place in my country.
Ha Noi is one of the most beautiful cites in Viet Nam. Ha Noi is the capital of Viet Nam, and it has nice weather, valuable culture, historical vestiges and many beautiful landscapes.
Ha Noi has four seasons in a year: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Up to now, Ha Noi has over 300 vestiges recognized as historical and cultural ones. Ha Noi has 600 pagodas, President Ho Chi Minh’ s Mausoleum… and the rich system museum such as President Ho Chi Minh’ s Museum, Ha Noi’ s Museum …
Ha Noi also has a lots places to visit. The West Lake, Hoan Kiem Lake, Truc Bach Lake are typical and beautiful lakes in Ha Noi. Moreover, around Ha Noi within 100 km, there are a lot of landscapes such as Cuc Phuong forest, Tam Dao Mountain, Huong Tich Grotto… These places combined with Ha Noi become a tourist attraction, and Ha Noi plays as the connecting point of the whole zone.
At last, thirty – six streets of Ha Noi attract me most

Dear Uncle Mai,
Thank you very much for the Taylor Swift CD that you sent me for Christmas. It is wonderful! She is my favorite singer.
It has just what I wanted. I listen to it all the time. Lan wanted to borrow it yesterday, but I didn’t lend it to her – She never gives back things.
We had a really good Christmas. My sister came home from University and our grandparents came to stay. I got a lot of great presents. Mum and Dad give me some jewellery and I got a new dress too. I am going to wear it on New Year‘s Day.
I hope you and your family are well. I really want to spend my summer holiday visiting your family. I am looking forward to seeing you and thanks again for the CD.
Love,
Kim Anh
4. An essay – What you’d do if you ruled the world.
If I ruled the world, I would do many things.
The first thing I would do is make governments spend more money on public transport. I don’t think there are enough trains and buses, and they are often overcowded.
The second thing I would do is build more hospitals and employ more doctors. In my view, we have to wait too long to see a doctor at the hospital.
The finally thing I would do is reduce homework for students. I like sports and music but I have no time to play baminton, do aerobics and listen to music. These things makes me relax after studying all the day.
There are also two less serious things I would do. I would make petrol much cheeper. In my opinion, they should only cost about 20,000 dong each. Next, I would make smokers stop smoking.
Those are things that I would do to make the world better.
