Module 1: CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
OBJECTIVES:
- Know varied Enlish expressions and structures to manage the classroom effectively, in terms of its physical environment, learning environment and creative classroom activities.
- Use these expressions and structures to conduct different classroom activities, especially pre-class, lead-in and warm-up activities.
- Improve their ELT teaching methods and techniques, especially in terms of managing the classroom, giving instructions, planning their lessons, facilitating classroom activities and providing feedback.
1. Managing the physical environment:
a. Keeping the classroom comfortable:
- Phew! It’s warm in here today. (.......) - Open the window, please. (.......)
- Can you see the board OK? (.......) - Let’s open the curtains. (.......)
- Please turn on the lights. (.......) - (Is that) any better? (.......)
b. Keeping the classroom safe:
- Please put your thing under your desk. (.......) - Please move the broken desk out of the way. (.......)
- Be careful! (.......) - What a mess! (.......)
- Put any rubbish in the bin, please. (.......)
c. Making space:
- We need to make some space. (.......) - Please find yourself a space. (.......)
- Please leave enough space for us to get through. (.......)
d. Moving around the classroom:

- Use these expressions and structures to conduct different classroom activities, especially the main ones of a lesson.
- Improve their ELT teaching methods and techniques, especially in terms of managing the classroom, giving instructions, planning their lessons, facilitating classroom activities and providing feedback.
