- Lan’s mother- Mrs. Quyen / tell Lan /
- she / hear / on TV / there / be / typhoon coming.
- Storm / come / with strong winds / heavy rain.
- Mrs. Quyen / family / scared.
- But / soon / storm / finish.
- Everyone / glad.

HOW TO WRITE A STORY
1. Begin with your subject.
2. Choose your verb, the word that tells what action your subject is taking.
3. Make certain that your verb matches the subject in number.
4. Add a direct object, which is the person or thing that the subject of the sentence acts upon with the verb.
5. Add an indirect object if you need more information than you can convey with only a direct object.
6. Use other words that you want to add to your sentence to make it more descriptive, but that aren`t necessary.
7. Create a compound sentence by combining two simple sentences with one of these connecting words.
- It / beautiful day.
- Sun/ shine; sky / blue; weather/ perfect.
- Lan / ouside / play / her dog / Skippy.
- All of a sudden/ dog/ behave strangely.
- She / keep / run around / in circles.
- Lan / run / home / with / dog / tell / mother / what Skippy / do.
- Lan’s mother- Mrs. Quyen / tell Lan /
- she / hear / on TV / there / be / typhoon coming.
- Storm / come / with strong winds / heavy rain.
- Mrs. Quyen / family / scared.
- But / soon / storm / finish.
- Everyone / glad.
- What / clever / dog / Skippy ! She / save / Lan / from / catch / in / typhoon.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the weather was perfect. Lan was outside playing with her dog, Skippy. All of a sudden, the dog behaved strangely. She kept running around in circles. Lan ran home with her dog to tell her mother what Skippy was doing. Lan`s mother, Mrs. Quyen told Lan that she heard on TV there was a typhoon coming. Mrs. Quyen gathered her family and told them to find shelter in the house.
Suddenly, the sky became very dark. The storm came with strong winds and heavy rain. Mrs. Quyen and her family were scared, but soon the storm finished and everyone was glad. What a clever dog Skippy! She saved Lan from being caught in the typhoon.
