Can people exist in a desert for long?
No, they can’t. Because of its harsh climate (very hot and dry, very cold, very little rainfall)
What`s the weather like in a desert?
It’s hot during the day and very cold during the night.
What kinds of plants and animals live in a desert?
-Plants:Cactus, grass, date palm,eucalytus…
-Animals:camel, sheep, lizard, jackal… and frog.
How can people travel across a desert?
By camels

TASK2: Work in pairs. Find out as many natural features of a desert as possible.
A: Let’s talk about the natural features of a desert.
B: Ok. Desert is a hot, dry and sandy place.
A: Further more, the rainfall is very little
B: As a result, very few trees and animals exist in a desert. Only cactus and camel exist in a desert for long.
A: And very few people can live there except for in Oasis.
B: In sum, life in a desert is extremely severe because of lack of water and food.
III.WHILE SPEAKING
Climate, rainfall, soil, plants/trees, animals, people
Task3: Work in groups of four.
You are going on an expedition across a desert with some of your friends. Discuss and choose the most important things you should bring along with you. Explain your choice.

Things:
a knife -a gun - a horse -a camel -a car -water
a cell phone - a blanket -a walkman
-a box of match -a mosquito net
A: What should we bring along with us?
B:I think we should bring food and water because there are no shops and water in a desert.
C: To me we should bring knives to cut food or fruits.
D: In my opinion, we should bring boxes of matches in case we make fires at night.
A: Well, these things are necessary for our expedition.

+ millions of rabbits (in Australia) eat every plant they can find.
