- Ha Long bay is located in Quang Ninh province - the east of northern Vietnam.
- Ha Long Bay has an area of about 1,553 km2, including 1,969 islands, mostly limestone islands.
- Ha Long Bay was recognized as a World Heritage Site twice by UNESCO:
+The first recognized for aesthetic value in 1994.
+The second recognized for geological and geomorphological value in 2000.
- In addition, Ha Long Bay nominated the third World Heritage for archaeological and biodiversity value and was voted one of the seven New Natural Wonders of the World in 2011.

- In addition to the beautiful scenery, tourists can enjoy fresh seafood such as crabs, shrimp, ... and local food when you come here.
- Tourists can tour around Ha Long bay with reasonable prices. They can save money because there are low-cost hotels, restaurants and cruise tours. If tourists have a lot of money and want to have a truly luxurious trip, there are also five-star restaurants, hotels and luxury cruise ships.
- Tourists can experience impressive moments such as watch the sunrise among the rocks, islets or caves; Diner in the caves and watch the sunset; or the breathtaking view from a moutain top overlooking the bay.
Therefore, there are conservation works such as:
- The Quang Ninh provincial government has banned high-speed motor boats serving tourists to protect the environment and biodiversity of the bay.
- To monitor and handle acts of damaging environmental landscapes.
- Prohibition of coal mining in heritage areas to prevent coal dust pollution.
- Many people volunteer to collect and treat waste in the bay area
At present, Ha Long Bay is increasingly degraded and polluted by the main cause is human, such as:
- Global warming caused by humans leads to climate change affects scenery, island system, cave, biodiversity of the bay.
- Water sources of Ha Long Bay are polluted by waste from factories and people`s rubbish.
- The stalactites were stolen and some caves were poured concrete into the cave floor to make the banquet table so lost their inherent landscape.
