Sa Pa Stone Church
The Sa Pa Stone Church, built in 1895, is the most complete ancient architectural mark of the remaining French people in Sa Pa, Lao Cai

- The shape and architecture of the church is built in the form of a cross in Roman Gotic architecture. That architecture shows on the roof, bell tower, arched dome ... are pyramids that make the project soothing. Stained glass window frames depict the life of God.
The church area consists of 7 compartments larger than 500 m2, 20 m high bell tower, 1.5 m high bell tower, cast in 1932, weighing 500 kg, echoes within a radius of nearly one kilometer.
With a total area of ​​the church campus of more than 6,000 m2, Sa Pa church has enough room for the layout of the area including: church area, rectory house, houses of monks, breeding houses, angelic houses , the front yard, the fence, the Holy Garden.

Choosing the direction of the church has an important spiritual significance for Catholics: The head of the monument turns to the East, directing the sun to rise, to welcome the light of God. At the end of the church (Bell Tower) is the West, the birthplace of Christ.
The whole church was built with hewn stone (walls, floor, bell tower, church yard, surrounding embankment) are linked together by a mixture of sand, lime and molasses.


In May 2006, Sa Pa parish officially had a priest and a resident priest after nearly 60 years without a pastor. The church has been embellished and preserved, becoming an indispensable image when mentioning misty Sapa town.
