HOMEWORK
Tape script
Our oceans are becoming extremely polluted. Most of this pollution comes from the land, which means it comes from people. First, there is raw sewage, which is pumped directly into sea. Many countries, both developed and developing, are guilty of doing this. Secondly, ships drop about 6 million tons of garbage into sea each year. Thirdly, there are oil spills from ships. A ship has an accident and oil leaks from the vessel. This not only pollutes the water, but it also kills marine life. Next, there are waste materials from factories. Without proper regulations, factory owners let the waste run directly into the rivers, which then leads to the sea. And finally, oil is washed from land. This can be the result of carelessness or a deliberate dumping of waste.”

Lesson 2: Speak and Listen
WELCOME TO OUR CLASS !
Mrs. Mi: What’s the matter, Mrs. Ha?
Mrs. Ha: I’m worried about my most recent water bill. It’s enormous.
Mrs. Mi: Let me see. 200,000 dong. You should reduce the amount of
water your family uses.
Mrs. Ha: How do I do that?
Mrs. Mi: First of all, get a plumber to make sure there are no cracks in
the pipes.
Mrs. Ha: I’ll do that.
Mrs. Mi: Baths use twice as much water as showers, so I suggest taking
showers. And remember to turn off the faucets. A dripping
faucets can waste 500 liters of water a month.
Mrs. Ha: I see. Thank you.
