Relative pronouns
Who: thay thế cho danh từ chỉ người đứng trước nó.
Which: thay thế cho cả danh từ hoặc tân ngữ chỉ vật đứng trước nó.
That để thay thế cho cả Who và Which ở mệnh đề quan hệ xác định.

* Note: MĐQH xác định là mệnh đề cần thiết dùng để bổ nghĩa cho của câu. nếu bỏ đi ý nghĩa của câu sẽ không rõ ràng.
* Form: N + who/ which/ that + be/ verb + ………
b. Non- defining relative clauses: (mệnh đề quan hệ không xác định).
-> This book, which is on the table , is very interesting.
Note: MĐQH không xác định là phần bổ sung thêm thông tin. Mệnh đề này có thể bỏ đi mà không ảnh hưởng đến nghĩa của câu. Mệnh đề này được ngăn cách với mệnh đề chính bằng dấu phẩy.
Chú ý ĐTQH That không dùng cho mệnh đề này.
