I- Pronunciation: /eI/ - /aI/ - /ɔI/
1. Introduction to the sounds:
* /eI/ has two sounds: /e/ and /I/. /eI/=/e/+/I/. First make the sound: /e/. Now make it longer: /eee/. Then add /I/. This is very short. /eeeI/
* /aI/ has two sounds: /a/ and /I/. /aI/=/a/+/I/. First make the sound: /a/. Now make it longer:/aaa/. Then add /I/. This is very short. /aaaI/
* /ɔI/ has two sounds: /ɔ/ and /I/. / ɔ I /=/ɔ/+/ I /. First make the sound: /ɔ/. Now make it longer:/ɔɔɔ/. Then add /I/. This is very short: /ɔɔɔI/

3. Practise these sentences.
1. The present perfect tense:
* Form:
(+): S + have/ has + PP + O.
(-): S + have not (haven’t)/ has not (hasn’t) + PP + O.
(?): Have/ Has + S + O?
Yes, S + have/ has.
No, S + haven’t/ hasn’t.
II- Grammar:
* Meaning:
The present perfect tense relates past time to present time. It means “before now”

PRESENT PERFECT
* Use: The present perfect tense is used to:
Express an action or state which began in the past and still continues:
Eg. + I have studied English for twelve years.(I still study English.)
+ Mary has been ill since last week.(I am still ill.)
+ Time expressions:
For + a period of time (for ages, for a month, ect.)
Since + a point of time (since 1970, since August, ect.)
Note: Ago goes with the past simple tense. (E.g. two days ago, sometime ago)
Express an experience that happened at sometime in one’s life. The action is in the past and finished, but the effects of the action are still felt. When the action happened is not important:
Eg1. I have been to Ha Long Bay. (I still remember.)
+ The adverbs: ever, never, before
Eg2. She has never tried jumping. (In her life.)
- Express a past action that has a present result. The action is usually in the recent past:
Eg1. A:. Have you cleaned the floor yet?
B: Yes. I have just cleaned it.
Eg 2. I have lost my wallet. (I haven’t got it now.)
+ The adverbs: yet, just, already, recently
