2. Form:
S + no longer + V- ordinary........
S + be + no longer +......
S + Auxiliary + no longer + bare infinitive
S + have/ has + no longer + PP(V3/ V-ed)
3.Use:
We use NO LONGER to describe that something has changed or doesn’t exist any more

4.Meaning:
No longer = not ..........any more/ any longer
Ex: Paul is no longer thin.
Paul is not thin any longer.
No longer >< still

III. PRATICE:
1.Exercise 1: Rewrite the following sentences using Not.........any longer/ any more.
a.My aunt still washes clothes by hand.
b.My sister still serves in the military
c.She is still delaying having children
d.Tom can still play football well.
 My aunt doesn’t wash clothes by hand any longer/ any more
 My sister doesn’t serve in the military any longer/ any more.
 She is not delaying having children any longer/ any more.
 Tom cannot play football well any longer/ any more.
2.Note:
When NO LONGER occurs initially, it requires the inversion of SUBJECT and VERB

Example:
Dinosaurs no longer exist.
 No longer do dinosaurs exist

Nam can no longer play football.
 No longer can Nam play football well.
FORM:
No longer + Aux + S + V- infinitive
No longer + Be + S
No longer + have/ has + S + PP
Other adverbs: NEVER, SELDOM, HARDLY, RARELY, NO SOONER, ONLY
Example:
He never goes out at night
 Never does he go out at night.
3.Exercise 2:
Put NO LONGER or other adverbs at the beginning of the beginning of the sentence
