Conditional Sentences
=> Conditional type1:

Exercise 1: Put the verbs in brackets into the correct form:

1. “If it rains, I will stay at home to read books,” said the boy.
The boy said that if it rained, he would stay at home to read book.
2. “If I were a millionaire, I could help a lot of poor children,” said the man.
The man said that if he was/ were a millionaire he could help a lot of children.
3. “If he had explained, I wouldn’t have misunderstood him,” his mother said.
His mother said that if he had explained, she wouldn’t have misunderstood him.

1. “I will come to see you if I have time,” the man said to her.
=>
2. “They would be very disappointed if you did not come,” the man said to his daughter.
=>
The man told her (that) he would come to see her if he had time.
The man told his daughter (that) they would be disappointed if she did not come.
Exercise 3: Change the sentences below conditional sentences into reported speech
3. “If you had asked me, I would have lent you my motorbike,” the man said to me.
=>
4. “What would you say if someone stepped on your feet?” he asked her.
=>
The man told me (that) if I had asked him, he would have lent me his motorbike.
He asked her what she would say if someone stepped on her feet.
IV. Choose the best answer for each sentence:
