PART A : READING
A. OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge: + General knowledge: To help the ss to ask for and give information about the uses of modern inventions.
+ Language: CPU, VDU, CD ROMS, …
2. Skills: reading for gist and for specific information.
3. Educational aim: To encourage the students to be interested in technology.
B. METHOD: integrated, mainly communicative.
C. TECHNIQUES: group and pair work, repetition, questioning …
D. TEACHING AIDS: chart, pictures…

Depends on a pedagogical setting
- Rewrite the sentences using Used to:
1. Lan ate meat and fish .
2. Hoa no longer cooks on wood-fired
- Corrects mistakes and marks
(Using 8 pictures of CPU, CD ROMs, Keyboard, VDU, mouse, floppy disk, printer, speakers).
- Asks the Ss to look at 2 or 3 of 8 pictures and asks them some questions about it these pictures
“ What do you see in the pictures?
- Asks the Ss to take part in the game called Matching.
- Explains the rule fo the game:
There are two teams – team A and team B. And there are 8 pictures sticked on the board. In addition, there are 8 names of the object in the pictures. The duty of the teams is to match the cards with the pictures. The team who has more right answers is the winner
Introduces some key words:

software (picture/ real object)

Game : slap the board
- Asks the students to read the text silently
- Asks the students to read task 1 in 60 seconds
- Asks the students to read task 1 in pairs in two minutes
- Gives feedback and asks Ss to give the evidence.
- Asks the students to work in groups and do task 2
- Gives feedback (asks each group why they choose that title)
- Task 3: asks the Ss work in pair and do task 3: one asks and one answers
- Calls some pairs to present their word
- Gives feedback
- Introduces some key words
1.calculating machine (real object)
2. electronic store (explanation)
- Asks Ss to work in groups and play role:
Teacher could give each group some real object: one takes the role of a customer and the other takes of a seller.
- Asks the students to work in pairs and discuss other uses of the computer in daily life
- Gives feedback and correct some errors or mistakes, especially pronunciation.
- Asks Ss to work in teams (Team A and Team B) and discuss two topics.
Team A: “ the advantages of using computer”
Team B: “ the disadvantages of using computer”
Questions :
* What is the magical?
* What is the place of scenic beauty?
- Asks ss to learn by heart the old lesson.
To prepare “ Speaking”
- Listen and do
1. Lan used to eat meat and fish

- Take note
-One or two students answer the questions
-Ss are going to take part in the game
-Ss listen to the rule
-Ss listen to the teacher and take notes
- Read in chorus
