UNIT 5: LIKES AND DISLIKES
I.Aims:
By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to:
-Know how to use the simple present tense.
-Know the rules of the “like + -ing” structure.
-Have vocabulary connected with food an drinks.
-Distingguish countable and uncountable nouns.
-Practise with “some, any’.

-Ask to look at the conversations and read them through.
-Play the tape.
-Require to match the conversations with the pictures.
-Divide class into pairs to practise the conversations.
-Give rules of the simple present tense.
-Give examples and ask to find out the forms.
-Suggest giving more examples.
-Write some examples using “like + ing/N” on the board and ask to remark.
-Ask to give other examples and practise with the pictures in book.
-“What do you like eating or drinking?”
-Ask to look at the diagram and write the names by the pictures.
-Play the tape and ask to listen and repeat.
-Divide class into pairs to ask and answer about what they like or don’t like.
-Ask to ask and answer the questions in pairs.
-Require to read and conplete the charts.
-Give note: when talking about eating and drinking, we say have rather than eat/drink.
-Divide into small groups to talk about the differences between the way they and the information in charts.
-Write on some examples and ask to remark: “What’s the differences?”
-Require to read the conversation and discuss the use of how many and how much with nouns.
-Ask to work in pairs to make more questions and answers.
-Ask to look at the conversations.
-“When do we use some and any?”
-Give the rules.
-Ask to give examples.
-Have to look at the pictures and say where the people are and to guess what they are talking about.
-Tell the class they are going to hear some more conversations and answer the questions.
-Play the tape to check.
-Write the gapped sentences for Ss to complete.
-Divide the class into groups to practise the conversations.
-Ask to match the questions with the answers.
-Summarize the main points.
-Assign homework.
-Look at the conversations and read.
