a. Type 1

If + S + V_ + O, S + will + V + O

Eg: If you work hard, you will pass the exam.

B. Type 2


If + S + Vpast + O, S + would + V + O

Eg: If I were you , I would study hard

If he stayed at home now, he would be watching T.V.

c. Type 3


S + had + VPII + O, S+ would+ have+VPII + O


Eg:
If she had stayed at home yesterday, I would have met her

If you had studied hard last year, you would have passed the examination

Exercise 1: Complete the sentences using the conditional sentence type I
1. If you fail the GCSE examination, ……..
If you fail the GCSE examination, you will not be allowed to take the entrance examination to the university
