1. Notice the tense of verb

Example:

What would have happened if Sam had been to the party last night?

Types of conditional sentences
Type 0: to express universal truth.
Type 1: to express present or future activities which are true or likely.
Type 2: to express present or future activities which are impossible or unlikely to happen.
Type 3: to deal with past situations. The actions do not actually happen.
Type 0 (Zero): to express universal truth.
Form: Present tense – Present tense.
The conjunction “IF” can be replaced by “WHEN”.
e.g.
a) If we put ice under the sun, it melts quickly.
b) When we put ice under the sun, it melts quickly.
Exercise: general situations

How do you feel if you do not sleep well?
How do you feel if someone is rude to you?
Who do you go to see if you are sick?
