Notes:1. Giống như danh từ, gerund có thể được sử dụng với mạo từ, tính từ sở hữu hay tính từ chỉ định.
Ex: - I hate all this useless arguing.
- The building of a new factory. (NOT: the building a new factory)
2. Khi gerund được dùng với mạo từ, nó thường không thể có tân ngữ trực tiếp.


3. Trong văn phong thân mật, người ta thường dùng dạng tân ngữ thay vì dạng sở hữu, đặc biệt khi gerund đứng sau động từ hay giới từ.
