This / That + a singular noun
Eg: This parcel, This book, That man, That car
This / That + is + singular noun
Eg: This is my book; This is a pen
That is my new boy friend;
That is Jane’s husband over there.
“This” indicates sth / sb near the speaker
“That” indicates sth / sb far from the speaker
