Practise these sentences:

1. WH- QUESTIONS:
Form:
With “to be”:
Ex: How are you?, What is your name?
With normal verbs:
Ex: Where do you live?
With modal verbs:
Ex: what can you see in the picture? bạn có thể thấy gì trong bức tranh?
With perfect tense:
Ex: How long have you been here? Bạn đã ở đây bao lâu?
Wh- + be + S (+ …)?
Wh- + will/can/may/could/must/...+ S + V (+ …)?
Wh- + do/does/did + S + V (+…)?
Wh- + have/has/had + S + V3 (+ …)?
What, Where, When, Why, How,
Who, Whom, Which……

* Functions:
+ As subject (làm chủ ngữ):
Ex:  To become a famous singer is her dream. Để trở thành một ca sĩ nổi tiếng là ước mơ của cô ấy
+ As complement (làm bổ ngữ)
Ex : What I like is to swim in the sea and then to lie on the warm sand.
Những gì tôi muốn là được bơi ở biển và sau đó phải nằm trên cát ấm.
+ As Object (làm tân ngữ)
Ex: It was late, so we decided to take a taxi home. Đã muộn, vì vậy chúng tôi quyết định đi taxi về nhà

Some verbs followed by V+ to-infinitive
In some structures
Ex: It takes Nam two hours to do that exercise.
  to sent a letter.
Ex: I went to the post office so as to sent a letter.
in order to sent a letter.

Ex: I have some letters to write.
Is there anything to eat?
S + V + too + adj / adv + to-inf
Ex: He is too short to play basket ball.
S + V + adj / adv + enough + to-inf
Ex : He isn’t tall enough to play basket ball.
After what, who, which, when, where, how,… (not why)
Ex : I don’t know what to say.
Put the correct verb
I want (see)................... the house where our president was born.
Would you like (go)................... now or shall we (wait)................... till the end?
It takes Hoa 20 minutes (walk)……..…………to school everyday.

Ex: I enjoy traveling. 
Some verbs followed by V-ing
Some Exceptions
Ex: They couldn’t help laughing when they heard the little boy singing a love song.
       The students are used to working in the school library.
       Please wait a minute. My boss is busy writing something.
after, before, when, while, since,… + V-ing
Ex : After finishing his homework, he went to bed.
on, in, at, of, about, for, to, up, out, …… + V-ing
Ex : My sister is interested in listening to music.

C. NO CHANGE MEANING
2. GERUNDS AND TO-INFITIVE:
+ To-inf / V-ing
Ex: It started to rain / raining.
But : It was beginning to rain.
+ Nhớ / quên / nuối tiếc việc đã xảy ra rồi (trong quá khứ) :
Ex1: I remember sending the letter. (Tôi đã gửi lá thư và tôi nhớ việc này rồi)
D. CHANGE MEANING
REMEMBER / FORGET / REGRET
+ Nhớ / quên/ nuối tiếc việc chưa, sắp xảy ra (trong tương lai) :
Ex2: I remember to send the letter. (Tôi không quên gửi lá thư)
Ex3: Don’t forget to turn off the light when you go to bed.
       I remember meeting you some where but I can’t know your name.
       Remember to send her some flowers because today is her birthday.
Ex: He stopped smoking because it is harmful for his health.





Ex: On the way home, I stopped at the post office to buy a newspaper.
