Form:
HAVE / HAS + PP
*Practice the dialogue:
Nga: Come and see my photo album.
Nam: Lovely! Who’s this girl?
Nga: Ah! It’s Lan, my old friend.
Nam: How long have you known her?
Nga: I’ve known her for six years.
Nam: Have you seen her recently?
Nga: No, I haven’t seen her since 2003.
She moved to Ho Chi Minh City with her family then.
Quang – brother’s friend / seven months /January
Hoa – new friend / three weeks / Monday

II.The passive voice:
BE + PP
Ex: Jeans are sold all over the world.
Form:
* Change these sentences into the passive voice, as directed:
a. They made jean cloth completely from cotton in the 18th century.
- Jean cloth …….
b. They grow rice in tropical countries.
- Rice……..
c. They will produce a lot of rice in Vietnam next year.
- A lot of rice……
d. They have just introduced a new style of jeans in the USA
- A new style of jeans……
e. They have built two department stores this year.
- Two department stores……..
a. Jean cloth was made completely from cotton in the 18th century.
b. Rice is grown in tropical countries.
c. A lot of rice will be produced in Vietnam next year.
d. A new style of jeans has just been introduced in the USA.
e. Two department stores have been built.
III. The passive form of modal Verbs, Have to, Be going to:
Ex: This exercise must be done carefully.
Must/ can /have to / be going to… + Be + PP
Change the sentences from the active to passive.
We can solve the problem.
The problem can be solved.
b. People should stop experiment on animals.
Experiment on animals should be stopped.
c. We might find life on other planet.
Life might be found on other planet.
d. We have to improve all the schools in the city.
- All the schools in the city have to be improved.
e. They are going to build a new bridge in the area.
- A new bridge in the area is going to be built.
Homework:
Use the correct form of the verbs:
I (learn) English for 4 years.
They (live) in Da Nang since 2001
You (eat) Chinese food yet?
Life on another planet might (find)
Two department stores (build) next year.
