Welcome to Radio Talk
Men often ask me what to wear to a job interview. It’s best to wear simple, neat business clothes. A dark blue jacket with dark blue pants is best. You should also wear a white shirt and a tie. Red is a good color for a tie. It’s a power color. You should carry a briefcase, too. Don’t wear bright colors like orange and yellow. And avoid those plaids and stripes, too. You should wear black shocks and black or brown shoes. Just remember – if you look professional, you will feel professional.
I got an e-mail from a woman who asked what to wear to a formal dance. The word formal says it all. Formal means formal. Wear a long dress. Put on some nice jewelry, too. Earrings and necklace make a formal dress look even better. Sleeveless dresses look very nice at a dance. Remember, very short dresses don’t look good at formal occasions. For a really formal look, take off those low-heeled shoes and put on shoes with high heels. Darling, have fun and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!
First, read the passage below.

Jeans are very popular with young people all over the world. Some
People say that jeans are the “uniform” of youth. But they haven’t
always been popular. The story of jeans started almost two hundred
years ago. People in Genoa, Italy, made pants. The cloth made in
Genoa was called “jeanos”. The pants were called “jeans”. In 1850, a
salesman in California began selling pants made of canvas. His name
was Levi Strauss. Because they were so strong, “Levi’s pants” became
popular with gold miners, farmers and cowboys. Six years later, Levis
began making his pants with blue cotton cloth called denim. Soon
after, factory workers in the United States and Europe began wearing
jeans. Young people usually didn’t wear them.

Vietnamese women should wear the ao dai at work.
Wearing the ao dai:
+ encourages them feel proud of the traditions and
customs
+ makes them look more beautiful, charming
+ is practical because they don’t have to think so
much of what to wear at work every day.
