Hoi An is an ancient town in Central Vietnam. It lies on the Thu Bon River and it was the trading centre in Southeast Asia in the 16th and 17th centuties. Hoi An is famous for old temples, pagodas, small tile-roofed houses and narrow streets.
Its main attractions are old architecture: Japanese Covered Bridge, Assembly Hall of Cantonese Chinese Congregation and Tan Ky House. All the houses were made of wood and their pillars were carved with ornamental designs.
