1. Comparatives:
a) Short adjective/adverb:
S + V + adj/adv –er (+ than + Noun / pronoun/ S + V)
Eg: Tuan studies harder than Nam (does).
b) Long adjective/adverb:
S + V + more + adj/adv (+than + Noun / pronoun/ S + V)
Eg: Lan is more careful than me / I am.
2. Superlatives:
a) Short adjective/adverb:
S + V + the + adj/adv –est + (in / of …)
Eg: Tuan studies the hardest in our class.
b) Long adjective/adverb:
S + V + the most + adj/adv +(in / of …)
Eg: Lan is the most careful of my friends.
Notes: big bigger the biggest

Some irregular adjectives/adverbs
Notes: farther: distance
