Work in groups: write a report describing the information in the column chart in Task 1 with the given words. Begin your report with :

The column chart illustrates the average hours of housework per week done by married women in comparison with married man.

As can be seen from the chart/ women/ spend/30 hours per week/ do/ housework/ while this number/ be/ 20 hours for men when they / have no children.

In families/ one or two children, the amount of time given to housework by men/ be just 15 hours/ but/ women’s hours of work at home rise/ to 50 hours per week.

In families of more than three children/it/ take/ women 55 hours a week/ do/ housework/ in contrast/ their husbands/ share fewer hours with only 10 hours.

In conclusion/ the chart /suggest that/ if women want/ gain social equality, they should first be/ liberate/ from these responsibilities. This can only /be done if men/ lend a more helpful hand to women/ in do/ domestic chores.

In conclusion, the chart suggests that if women want to gain social equality, they should first be liberated from these responsibilities. This can only be done if men lend a more helpful hand to women in doing domestic chores.
