Answer: It is in the southeastern part of New York State.
Question 2: What is its population?

Answer: 7 million people in the city and 19 million people in the metropotan region.

Question 3: Why was New York originally called New Amsterdam?
Answer: Because it was founded by the Dutch and the capital of the Netherlands was Amsterdam.
Question 4: What makes New York an unusual city?

Answer: It is the home of the UN and the centre of global finance, communications, and business.

Question 5: What places in New York are visitors attracted to?

Answer: The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the wall street, and the Broadway theatre district.
