Unit 13: winners.
I. Aims:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
-Ss know how to use “ going to” for future intention.
-SS can build up the topic of sport.
-Ss will be able to make suggestions and make conversations about planning.

-Ask: Have you bought lottery tickets?
-Ask Ss to look at the story and answer the three comprehension questions.
-Check the answers.
-Give note: “ going to” indicates an intention or a plan for the future.
-Go around the class asking Ss to supply the missing names.
-Check the answers.
-Invite Ss to complete the sentences using information in the story.
-Guide to discuss how “going to” is used to express the future.
-Invite Ss to talk about constructions to express the future.
-Ask Ss to look at the sentences in book and work out hoe the forms are made.
-Give (+) and asks to change into (-) and(?).
Ex: We are going to spend it.
-Ask to work in pairs to make sentences about what the people are going to do.
-Play the tape for Ss to listen and check their answers.
-Write on examples and underline the verbs.
-Invite Ss to give more examples of two part verbs.
-Add directional arrows.
-Explain that some two-part verbs don’t have literal meanings and that particle doesn’t help us understand the meanings of the verbs.
-Ask Ss to work impairs to complete the sentences.
-Check the answers.
-Ask Ss to identify the verbs.
-Go through the sentences and guide Ss to transform them orally and writ down their answers.
-Ask: What’s the Year of the Tiger?
-Ask Ss to look at the pictures of Tiger Woods and give information they know about him.
-Guide Ss to discuss what he is doing in each picture.
-Require Ss to read the article and answer the question.
-Ask Ss to read the text again to identify the different items.
-Invite Ss to talk about the items.
-Divide Ss into groups and ask to discuss the questions.
Ask Ss to look at the pictures and name each of the places .
-Play the tape for Ss to listen and decide which places the people are going to.
-Play again to check.
-Give examples:
+Let’s go out.
+Shall we go out?
+Why don’t we go out?
+ Would you like to ho out?
-Suggest Ss to work in pairs and try the ways of agreeing and disagreeing.
-Summarize the main points of unit.
-Ask Ss to say their plan for near future.
-Assign homework.
-Share their experiences of buying tickets and possibly of winning or failing to win prizes.
-Look at the story and give answers:
+ They’re Sarah, Max… . They all work in an office together.
+Every week they buy a lottery ticket.
+They have the winning numbers, but….
-Check the answers.
-Take the note.
-Supply the missing names:
